First Look at Lucy on the L Word - Video

Lucy's episode is the first episode of the new season 6 and it's called Long Nights Journey Into Day. Recently the DVD of this episode was put up for auction on Ebay (It was sold for $425!)

The following was part of an interview Lucy gave to the Bay Area Reporter 25 September 2008

Lawless recently made a guest appearance as a celebrity judge on RuPaul's Drag Race. "We had to find the next drag superstar. I didn't entirely agree with the result," she laughs, "but clearly I am a visitor to that world and did not know what I was talking about!" Then she adds, "Oh, I don't know if it's been announced, but I'll give it to you: I'm going to do a guest spot on The L Word ."

Hmmmm! Long-time lesbian icon, just returned from a friend's gay wedding in Provincetown, judging a drag reality show, doing a concert in San Francisco and appearing on the leading lesbian cable-drama. Sound like a not-so-secret queer agenda? "It's all coincidental," says the twice-married mother of three, of the LGBT prevalence in her life. "It was not intended to be the focus of my year, but it's turned out that way." So will she, on The L Word, finally be portraying an out lesbian, as opposed to a possibly lesbian warrior princess? "I don't know. They've sent me several scripts, and I haven't been through them all, which I must do soon!"

GALACTIC PROPORTIONS: Following up on last week's item about Katee Sackhoff's new Dick Wolf cop show, and her pal Grace Park joining the CBC hit (and 10 times Gemini-nominated) The Border (returning Monday night at 9 – with Park joining the cast about six weeks in), there's news that their Battlestar Galactica co-star Mary McDonnell is virtually signed and delivered for a multi-episode guest arc on Grey's Anatomy, and that lesbian fan icon Lucy Lawless will be showing up at some point on the current season of The L Word.

Who needs to find the planet Earth when you've got work in Hollywood? Or in Lawless' case, Vancouver – bringing her right back to where Battlestar was shot.

Lucy has posted one her website that she will be appearing in The L Word. No other details available as yet on how many episodes and what character. (Lucy was first approached to play a role on The L Word but then they gave that role to someone else).

 

This is part of the interview from The Advocate 10 October 2006 where Lucy made that reference:

 

Lawless spent four months filming Galactica in Vancouver, which is also the shooting grounds for The L Word. While in Canada, couldn't she have squeezed in an L Word cameo for her legion of lesbian fans?

"They came to me about The L Word early on," she reveals. 'Then they got some girl with a Xena haircut [Karina Lombard]. That's what often happens to me. They came to me about [the 1999 movie] Pushing Tin, and then at the last minute they said, 'Oh, never mind,' because Billy Bob [Thornton] had met Angelina [Jolie]. So what did they do? They gave her the haircut! I can't use that haircut anymore, because everyone else has done it."
