New Lucy Music CD, "Please" Released

pleasecover.jpg

Back in 2007, Lucy recorded two songs with the late Pauly Fuemana of OMC.  The first was entitled "4 All Of Us," and can be seen in a music video in the AUSXIP Video Lucy Lawless Channel here

The second song was entitled "Please," and is finally available on Amazon.com as a cd single.  The single includes two versions of "4 All Of Us" in addition to the title track, and sells for $9.99 US plus shipping and handling.  Because of the light demand for this title, Amazon does not carry any ready stock, but will order more when there's sufficient interest.  So if you're interested, head on over to the Amazon.com link below, and sign up for email notification (requires an Amazon account.)  When the title is re-stocked, be sure to order quickly while supplies last!  AUSXIP reporter Julie H. assures me that the cd is available, and well worth the effort for serious Lucy fans!

Lucy Performing At Dinah Shore Event Videos

The videos of Lucy performing at the Dinah Shore Weekend have now been fixed. It seems the new flash player didn't like to play with some people's browsers so I've reverted back to the original JW player.

Lucy Performs with Shane Cortese 11 May 2010

ImageA gorgeous new pic has been posted of Lucy performing with Shane Cortese and his band on 11 May 2010 in New Zealand.

This event had it's origins at the Starship Supernova Event back in September 2009 when Shane and his band went up for auction during the hugely successful silent auction on the night...from memory (mine and Sidekick Jo's) Shane and his band were being sold as an auction item to have them perform at any event of the winner's choosing and they went for $10,000 and then when it was over, Barfoot and Thompson jumped in and matched that amount which also got Lucy involved for a grand total for $20,000. I do remember Lucy jumping in and added her name to the deal at some point - it wasn't planned.

Starship raised over $100,000 for the night which was a spectacular night.

Lucy Lawless Subsite Gentlemen Prefer Blondes + Videos

ImageAs much fun as I had redesigning the Grease! site yesterday, this one was even more fun because I could re-live the fun when I was reading my review of all 5 performances from May 2005. Lucy starred in the musical Gentlemen Prefer Blondes at the 5th Avenue Theatre in Seattle as Dorothy Shaw.

I've redesigned the subsite and have added 3 interviews Lucy did during that time. The Radio interviews have been removed to be reformatted in mp3 format.

How Bizarre Singer Dies (Lucy Mention)

Musician Pauly Fuemana, frontman for the band OMC, died this morning at North Shore Hospital following a short period of illness.

His family was expected to issue a statement later today.

In 1995 OMC (Otara Millionaires Club) shot to fame with the single How Bizarre which reached number one in New Zealand, Australia, Canada, and parts of Europe.

OMC moved between three and four million copies of their album, also titled How Bizarre, making it New Zealand's biggest-selling record.

The band broke up in 2000. They reformed in 2007 and released a single 4 All of Us, featuring actor Lucy Lawless.

Lucy In Good And Other Digital Magazines on Zinio

zinio.jpgYou can see Lucy in issue 7 from June-July 2009 of Good Magazine and other digital versions of popular publications on Zinio.Com the Digital Magazine website.

Zinio has pages from the Emmy Magazine as well as others. You will need Flash player to properly display the pages. Zinio will allow a limited amount of pages to be "blown up", but you can zoom on those pages to get a crisp view of the contents.

Lucy mention in Heath Ledger Foundation article

The late Heath Ledger was an ambassador and supporter of Australians in Film. A Scholarship has been established in his honor, to enable Australian actors to pursue their career in the U.S.  Jude Law, a great friend of Ledger, who appears in his last film, The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, was named as one of the Judges, along with casting director, John Papsidera (who cast Ledger as the Joker in The Dark Knight) and Susie Dobson, chair of the AIF.

A sold out benefit screening was held at the Ricardo Montablan theatre in Hollywood, featuring traditional Australian dishes, and thousands of dollars were raised to benefit the scholarship fund. [...]

One of the most spectacular soirees is hosted by entrepreneur Norby Walters at the fabulous Beverly Hills Hotel - aptly titled, "The Night of 100  Stars".  This is the 20th year that we have attended this extraordinary Oscar viewing party which includes a stellar mix of TV and movie actors, moguls and media, producers, paparazzi and assorted glitterati. We have wined and dined alongside such celebs as A-Listers Shirley Jones, Daniel Baldwin, James Cromwell, Laura Dern, Martin Landau, Kristy Swanson, Peter Bogdonovich and Frances Fisher to name a few. Last year, our tablemate was Lucy Lawless (Xena) who was unrecognizable without her black hair & bangs, but still a gorgeous Amazon.

Lucy Live at the Planet A Concert - BEING UPDATED

I'm going to be updating this page as news comes through...latest updates at the top...

Lucy came back on at the end for the final song together with all the performers. She was dressed in a white shirt with her hair in pigtails.Apologies again for the quality..it is set to the highest available for the stream...Lucy did a Xena yell towards the end which was cool.

lucynzmusic097.jpglucynzmusic099.jpg

Alrighty...a recap...The song list was:

Losing My Religion
Fooled Around & Fell In Love
Delta Dawn
G.L.O.R.I.A.

Lucy was AWESOME! She looked and sounded fantastic even with the choppy stream (isn't there a song about choppy streams?), loved the long dark wig, Daisy was in her Sunshine Band as one of the BV's and Lucy's voice was strong. Another great performance!

lucynzmusic094.jpgApologies for the picture quality - the streaming video wasn't very good across the ditch so  my apologies..here are some screencaptures - better video and pictures to follow from around the web and other places (one hopes).

planet-a-lucy2.jpg

planet-a-lucy1.jpg

and that's the end of Lucy's time on stage!

and now GLORIA!

Fooling Around & Fell in Love followed by one of my favourites - Delta Dawn!

Lucy is singing - Losing My Religion ...looks SMASHING! The steam is CHOPPY!

Rhys Darby has announced 5,000 people marched today in Auckland and 2,000 in Wellington
-
Don McGleshan is performing...

--
The Ziln streaming video is mega choppy ...

--
the weather is dry but the grass is a tad overwatered...the marchers are coming in and there are HEAPS of people!

--

She's wearing a black wig (which may or may not be her new hair colour but it is longer than normal so it may be a wig)

The Fashion Rejects are at it again (you knew we would make another running commentary...we still don't know diddly)...okay Lucy is wearing black top, green pants, still with the black wig...no shoes...can't see them but she is wearing some.

Jo is at the concert venue and she is reporting in having watching a little of the sound check..
Lucy is performing Gloria and Fooled Around & Fell in Love!

Daisy is doing BV duties...

Stay tuned....
