Lucy made a spectacular guest appearance on the show dressed in her Amazon outfit (which first appeared in Season 6 episode Dangerous Prey and was directed by Renee. It was Renee who had the brilliant idea in putting Lucy in the Amazon outfit. Talk about knowing your audience.) Madeleine took a leaf out of Renee's book and got Lucy back in the outfit.

Lucy Lawless Funny Business DVD Update

For those wondering if the Funny Business DVD from New Zealand had any Lucy content. The answer is yes and there is a special menton at the back of the DVD.

It appears from the photos on the back (I haven't had a chance to watch the DVD yet) that the "corn" skit is on here :) That is hysterical and Lucy is just too funny. I'm hoping also the skit with her as a police woman is on there but I'll have to check.

Repackaged BSG Complete Series DVD News

tvshowsondvd has some news about the upcoming release including the Box Art of the Repackaged "Complete Series" DVD and Blu-Ray sets.

Revamped versions of these sets, including The Plan, jumps into stores on April 6th

Two weeks ago Universal announced that on April 6th they will put out repackaged versions of Battlestar Galactica - The Complete Series on DVD and high-def Blu-ray Disc. Just now this evening, the studio has provided package art for the revamped, more "shelf-friendly" boxes.

Re-issue of The Complete Battlestar Galactica DVD/Blu-ray

From TVShowsOnDVD: [...] Today Universal has announced a new repackaged re-issue of Battlestar Galactica - The Complete Series. Studio material about the new releases say that this version of "The Complete Series also includes the unrated, extended feature-length movie, Battlestar Galactica: The Plan." Pictures of the new "unlimited" packaging aren't available just yet, but the studio descriptions say the DVD will be in "Slim Snap Cases with an Outer Box" and the high-def Blu-ray version will be "Digipaks with an Outer Box".

Also of interest is the new lower cost. Despite the addition of The Plan to the disc count, the more standardized packaging is significantly reducing the prices on the new versions. The DVDs previously had been $279.98 SRP on the limited-package set, but the new box will bring the price down to $199.98 SRP. The story is similar on the Blu-ray side: instead of the old $349.98 SRP price tag, the new high-def release in the low-key package is just $299.98 SRP. No on-disc content has been removed, from what we've seen so far; they've added The Plan and simplified the packaging.

Note, though, that there is no word yet about the "Face of the Enemy" webisodes which, like The Plan, was also missing from the previous Complete Series set. If we find out anything, either way, we'll let you know. These re-issues will be available to own on April 6th, the same day as the individual Season 2 Blu-ray release. Stay tuned and we'll bring you pictures of the new package art, just as soon as we can!

Xena & Hercules Season 1 Re-Released on DVD!

Make way for one of the fiercest and most dynamic woman warriors to ever grace the TV screen as all 24 Season One episodes of Xena: Warrior Princess come to DVD. Lucy Lawless is Xena: a smart, tough, and fearless fighter who travels the dangerous roads of Ancient Greece defending the innocent from the forces of darkness and seeking redemption for her cruel misdeeds of the past.

Along for the adventures is her devoted friend Gabrielle (Renée O'Connor), a compassionate girl who hopes to be a warrior one day, and other legendary figures, including the formidable Hercules (guest star Kevin Sorbo). Combining impressive displays of mythology, fantasy, and martial arts, it's an iconic show that set the bar for all female action heroes.

It's been a bit over 7 years since Xena: Warrior Princess - Season 1 first came to DVD, as a seven disc set originally sold online, directly to fans, from Davis-Panzer in late 2002, and then distributed by Anchor Bay in retail stores beginning in April 2003. That release has been discontinued, but now Universal Studios Home Entertainment would like to bring those episodes back to market. This morning Universal announced that Xena: Warrior Princess - Season 1 will be re-released as a 5-DVD set, for just $26.98 SRP, and available on April 20th. No details, bonus material (if any), or package art has been provided so far...just the A/V specs: full screen video, English Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo sound, and English subtitles. Stay tuned, and we'll update you further just as soon as we find out more!
