Vetro, among the entertainment industry’s
most prominent voice teachers and vocal
coaches, conceived the project from his own
“dream” – to produce an album of night
music, lullabies and ballads performed by
major film and television stars, in order to
share a different side of their talents.
Baruch and Gayton, creators and producers of
prestigious musical, theatrical, and
television events, developed the album
concept with Vetro to include a variety of
accompanying musical ensembles drawn from
the brilliant musicians of the Los Angeles
Philharmonic. The three producers worked
with the singers to help them select the
songs and create individual styles,
personally supervise arrangements,
orchestrations and recording sessions.
Wayne Baruch and Charles F. Gayton executive
produced, wrote and staged the Gala Opening
Celebration of the Los Angeles
Philharmonic’s new home, Walt Disney Concert
Hall, featuring Music Director Esa Pekka
Salonen and soloists ranging from Yo Yo Ma
to Audra MacDonald and presenters such as
Tom Hanks and Catherine Zeta-Jones. They
also created and produced the accompanying
Emmy-nominated PBS Great Performances
television special. Baruch and Gayton also
created, and annually produce the
“Hollywood Bowl Hall of Fame Opening
Concert”. The first six annual
concerts have inducted more than 20 world
renowned artists into the Hollywood Bowl
Hall of Fame, ranging from John Williams to
Joshua Bell to Stevie Wonder to Garth
Brooks, raising millions of dollars for
children’s music education programs in the
process. Other musical/television events
include “The Three Tenors,” “Superbowl
Saturday Night,” and their annual
Independence Day celebration broadcast to
America’s troops worldwide – “Stadium of
Fire.”
Eric Vetro is a voice teacher, pianist,
songwriter and musical director who has
worked with Broadway stars such as Tony
Award winners Hugh Jackman ("The Boy From
Oz") and Marissa Jaret Winokur
("Hairspray") as well as rock stars such as
John Rzeznik of THE GOO GOO DOLLS, Rivers
Cuomo of WEEZER and Ryan Cabrera. He also
coached John C. Reilly (Oscar nominee for
the musical feature film "Chicago"),
Billy Crystal (opening medley for the "2004
Academy Awards"), Jeremy Irons ("Camelot"
at the Hollywood Bowl), Kevin Spacey
(feature film "Beyond the Sea"),
Shirley Jones ("42nd Street" on
Broadway), Alfred Molina ("Fiddler on the
Roof" on Broadway), Kathy Bates and
Victor Garber (ABC's remake of "Annie")
and Ewan McGregor ("Guys and Dolls"
in London).
“Music Matters” (http://www.laphil.org/support/music_matters.cfm)
