Redesigned the Heartbeat to Heartbeat 2005 Documentary subpage and included the video that had been offline for a while. Heartbeat to Heartbeat is an urgent wake-up call for women to improve their cardiovascular health. The documentary reveals useful information on risk factors, symptoms and prevention of heart disease, while exploring the emotional impact of the number-one killer of women in the United States. HEARTBEAT also addresses the need for women to ask their physicians questions and to reach out for support. Interviews include heart disease advocate Lucy Lawless (Xena: Warrior Princess) and Kathy Kastan, president of WomenHeart.

Actor Lucy Lawless, star of the television series, Xena: Warrior Princess, who encourages women to take charge of their well-being: “Being a warrior goes into all aspects of our life, especially women’s health…. We’re all trying to do everything all the time. And I think we have to take a really strong focus on putting our health first, in every aspect—physical health, heart health, mental, emotional health.”

As the documentary underscores, diagnosis and treatment are critical to saving—and reclaiming—one’s life.

At the 2011 AUSXIP Charity Auction one of the items was a new Kindle and Lucy's hand picked reading list which she donated for the lucky winner of the Kindle. The Kindle + the list was sold for $1050 (USD) ($1282 NZD)

This is an EXTREMELY rare autographed Spartacus Blood and Sand DVD. You will not get this anywhere other than the AUSXIP Charity Auction. The auction starts 21 March and runs through to 27 March.

The autographs are from the cast and production crew (excluding Andy Whitfield, Jai Courtney and John Hannah). Many thanks to Katrina Law for contributing the DVD and collecting all the autographs for the AUSXIP Charity Auction - going above and beyond. It floored me when I got it and it still floors me when I see it. This is truly one of kind and a collectible for Spartacus and Xena fans alike.

Lucy attended The Muppets Premiere for Starship on Sunday, 4 December in Auckland

Sunday 4th December was an afternoon of fun and chaos at Event Cinemas in Newmarket as the Friends of Starship hosted The Muppets Premiere for Starship.

Cafe Melba at Victoria St West played host to a special fundraiser for Starship on Wednesday 23 November.

Lucy has had a very busy few days flying the flag for Starship. Following her Cafe Melba breakfast duties, she has followed it up with another charity event to raise money for Starship last night via Cafe Melba (23 November 2011). The following was posted on the Altura Coffee Company Facebook page

My 2 star struck Bosses slayed down by the Warrior princess Lucy Lawless at a charity auction event to raise money for Starship last night. Altura donated a Silvia Coffee Machine which got the highest bid of the night $1300. Well done Cafe Melba on a great night and great charity. TM with Chris White, Chris White, Lucy Lawless and John Riley.

Cafe Melba in Auckland, New Zealand celebrated their 15 year anniversary and they celebrated with style. In addition to being a great place for a coffee (very nice place, a little crowded but the service is great), Cafe Melba is a huge supporter of Starship. So much so that Lucy switched jobs for an hour and served customers in the cafe. The NZ Herald covers this below and you can also find pictures of the event on the Cafe Melba Facebook page.

Star waitress Lucy Lawless raises money for Starship - NZ Herald 19 November 2011

Customers getting their morning coffee and breakfast got a surprise when Kiwi actress Lucy Lawless arrived at their tables.

Wearing a black apron, she cheerfully asked customers: "Is there anything I can get you?"

Lawless - of Xena: Warrior Princess and Spartacus: Blood and Sand fame - greeted customers at Cafe Melba in downtown Auckland's Vulcan Lane yesterday to help raise money for the Starship children's Hospital.

The 2011 Starship Spring Clean Auction has come to an end and the following is the final successful bids/wins for all of Lucy donated items.

The total amount comes to $14,838. What an amazing figure. Congratulations to Starship on yet another successful Spring Clean and of course to Lucy Lawless and Starz Entertainment for being so generous in donating all those goodies from Spartacus.

Well that was one hell of a morning! Just as the bidding war over dinner with Lucy and her artwork was last week, so this week we had Argo, Starship Warrior Princess going at a gallop to the finish line. My friend Jo was bidding for another friend of ours and the race was on...Argo was sedate at first and then up she goes $1500 $2000 $2400 and up and up and up and the clock reset 2 minutes with each new bid.
 

The Starship Spring Clean Auction has just hours to go. If you want to bid on Lucy's costumes, The Spartacus costumes, Argo or Lucy's Frog, now's the time to do it!
