Lucy and Rob now have their very own little warrior, named Julius.

Lucy Lawless, who plays Xena on the cult television show, has given birth to a mini Hercules. She and her husband Rob Tapert are the proud parents of Julius Robert Bay Tapert, who came into this world weighing four kilos (phew!), in Lucy's native New Zealand.

Julius is the second child for 31-year-old Lucy, who has an 11-year-old daughter, Daisy, from a previous marriage. Lucy will be back on the New Zealand set next month, when Xena: Warrior Princess begins filming its fifth season.

Her pregnancy had been written into the show, so we can look forward to Xena adjusting to motherhood during the next series. As Lucy said recently, "I rather fancy Xena wheeling a little baby carriage across the savannah!"
